Brave Heart is an excellent movie for this bog topic. Brave Heart is a movie about an Scottish's man who is fighting against the English in order to gain their freedom. The English were controlling almost everything about the Scott,s life's. They would do anything from beat them to burn their house down for fun. Eventually as everyone does someone finally got pushed far enough to do something grate, like a revolution. It is started by a man named William Wallace. He was married at night to prevent the English from finding out. They didn't want the English knowing because the lords rape the newly married women. Wallace's girl was different she wasn't the type to just deal with it. She fought back and was killed for it. She had her throat slit and this angered Wallace into fighting the English back. He couldn't take the oppression of his people anymore. He started the Scottish revolution, and fought in it fearlessly. He wasn't afraid to be the first one to strike or to face the enemy alone. He went to see his "friend" alone which turned out to be a mistake. The lords of Scotland ended up betraying him. Wallace died a horrible death because he held his values above bodily harm. This would take incredible mental and physical strength to endure. He would have rather died than allow this to keep happening to good people. This is clearly in the hero archetype because of his willingness to sacrifice life and limb in order to help others. His sword was his hero symbol and his wife was the woman he was trying to protect with it.
