Doctor Seuss has been using children's books for generations to teach us about some overlooked subjects. He does this to attempt to make us aware of what is going on. He uses it to show that if there is a problem we are usually the cause. The Lorax that speaks for the trees is a book that was published in August 12, 1971.  He wrote it to make us conscious of the horrible things we are doing to the environment. The book has the Lorax speak for the trees because truly they cannot speak for themselves. Now a days we could use a Lorax to remind ourselves of the path we are headed down. The rainforest is being eaten every day. Yet still the production only increases. It shows the dangers of water pollution too. In the Lorax the fish get out of the polluted water and walk away from the area. In real life the fish wish they had that luxury. In real life they would suffer a cruel death from poisoning or suffocation. In fact they do, there are areas all along the U.S. cost called dead zones that contain no oxygen in the water. The Dr. also warns of air pollution in the Lorax. My parents went to China to adopt my little sister and they got to see first hand the effects of air potation. When they went there they saw a gray sky. It wasn't from water vapor it was from all the factories in China. It was also because of the lack of regulations on the parts per million of pollutants in China's air. This combined made eternal grayness of the sky so man can keep producing. This is what the Lorax warns against with its ethos style writing and that this almost too late message cannot be ignored any longer.
